Well, I guess that was enough fun for one summer. Here's Auntie Jeanne, Anneke and Mom (me sneaking in the background), as we had a bite at the airport before we came back.
And -- remember that picture from the first page? Well, actually, that was taken when we departed, here, in the airport, ready to leave.
One last opportunity there to buy the image of Rembrandt's girl, the one we saw for real at the Mauritshuis in the Hague...but it just wasn't the same on the tacky fake delft-blue duty-free airport rendition.
Back in America, we went straightway to the Idyllwild annual jazz festival; then Anneke went to work in Mexico; I rented a room in Idyllwild; she broke her pelvis and spent two months bedridden in San Diego; and now we've rented a really nice house up here in our good old mountain home. Come and see us sometime.
