Well, that was fun.
We concluded our stay with Jolette & family by going to a music festival, where another friend of Anneke's, Tomas (Puerto Rican, now living in Wurtzburg), was playing in the Latin-style band (very big in Germany). Here he is with his band (not the one we saw), clearly shown in the bottom right corner. Better yet, here's a picture of Tomas with Anneke, in front of the house he shares with his girlfriend, Eva, and her daughter, Elena (on Anneke's lap). There's Eva passing by while Elena photographs my left foot.
Here's something I saw in Wurtzburg, which shows you something about Europe in general: stone streets. They're just
so much nicer than the asphalt and concrete we're stuck with here in the States, and I thought is was really cool to actually see a couple of fellas putting one together. The pattern depicted, by the way, is a very common fanning-out motif.
Did I mention that I think little girls are cute? Here's Elena pretending that she's photographing me back, with her ice-cream-on-a-stick. And of course, hanging upside-down.
