During the last leg of our great journey, we were based in Eindhoven, with Anneke's sister Ellen and her family. There's the man and the boys, mounted on bikes in typical Dutch fashion. Also typical is that the youngest one, Arthur, never fails to be making an entertaining face when his picture is being taken.
Here's something you don't see in the States: A car that's even smaller than Anneke. Yes, the rest of the world has been working on the compact car problem for a long time. By the way, if you're ever in Eindhoven, take note of this sign: 100 guilder fine for peeing outside! To make matters worse, you have the humiliation of being compared to a ruffian with a diaper, and a pacifier in his mouth. Just hold it till you get home! What a surprise when our sweet little friend Jovielle called and told us she was in Europe too, and wanted to pay us a visit! And what a relief when I finally found someone I could speak English too at a manic, accelerated rate -- about all of my new and novel experiences! Jovie is in the red and her traveling companion in the lavender.
